"How to Use Kingdra (E2)"
Article #130.

** 120 HP . There is no getting better than this. Gold Berry will work just about every time, and you will probably last a long time in battle. Healing Field may not be a bad idea either, since Rapids deals enough damage that removing 20 won't help your opponent too much.

** Bottom Stats . Lightning Weakness is not that fun. Electabuzz is a threat, but the HP makes it not so much of a problem. It would take 2 Thunderpunches to take down this card, and possibly more if you are using some damage removal. Most Lightning cards don't deal 60 damage, so you're safe at least for 1 turn. No Resistance is here once again, so I move on to Retreat Cost, which happens to be (*)(*)(*). You may not really want to pay this, so you should probably run some Switch in your deck, and if you read on farther, you could see why.

** Evolves from Seadra (Stage 2) . There are a couple different Horseas to use in Modified, including Neo1, and two from E2. Most likely, either of the E2 ones would be better, because the Neo1 version takes (W)(W) to even attack! (And if you're in Standard, the Fossil version is the best ;)). For Seadra, there are two choices, Neo1 and E2. Neither one is bad here, as they both have 70 HP, and deal a nice amount of damage for little Energy. Personally, I think the E2 one packs a bigger punch than the Neo1, but it's up to you. They both can be used easily. And, even though Kingdra takes 4 Energy to attack, you could use Breeder and still attack that turn, due to the Poke-Power...

** Poke-Power: Water Cyclone . Talk about saving Energy for yourself! You could use this in two main ways. One of which is to save Energy from a Pokemon about to be KO'd. Another is to power up Kingdra. This is how you can use Breeder and attack the same turn King is put into play. Just move all your Water from your Active, and maybe even change your Active, and move THOSE Waters to King also! Being able to move Energy around is a very nice thing... Take advantage of this. ;)

** (W)(W)(*)(*) Rapids  50 . This is where this Kingdra comes into the same range as its Neo3 friend. You only have a 50% chance at one Energy, while the other one gives a 75% chance for at least one. BUT, the other one totally does nothing on that 25%. This one is completely guaranteed. Regardless, being able to remove an Energy is not a common thing at all in Modified, and is one main reason Neo3 Kingdra became the beast it is now. With Aquapolis, they take a very similar ability, and put it with a Poke-Power on a 120-HP giant, and now... @_@. Obviously, the first things you should target when using this are Darkness and/or Metal Energy. (Rainbow would be good too.) To wrap up this section, the damage is good for the Energy you put into it. Overall, this is a fun attack. ^_^

COMBO CARDS .

~Switch. If you plan on using Kingdra the same turn you put it into play, start moving all your Waters to him from your Active. Then, if you still don't have enough, do it with another Pokemon. Then, since this Pokemon may not have Energy to retreat with, here's Switch!

~Muk (Fossil). Start playing around with your opponent's Energy, and shut off Pokemon Powers. Quite an evil combination. ;) Just remember, Water Cyclone gets shut off too, so make sure Kingdra has all the Energy it needs.

RATINGS :
Standard . This isn't the greatest in this format, mainly because of SER being legal. Also, it being a Stage 2 isn't great either. You can still have fun with it, because almost anything dealing 50 damage and with 120 HP is a hard thing to get past. 6.5 /10.
Modified . @_@ This is comparable to the Neo3 Kingdra, just with some tweaks to it. The HP makes up for the lack of the first attack, and the Poke-Power makes up for this attack being slightly weaker than the Neo3's. Otherwise, I'm putting this at the same level in my mind. 9/10.

Are there any other E2 cards with 120HP?

Thanks for reading.
